Thanks to its five elements, balance-time® can be used flexibly and can be tailored to the needs of very different companies and institutions (production companies, service companies, office workplaces, schools, teachers, health care, etc.).

> one-to-one turns at individual workplace

In one-to-one-work the employee is supported directly at his/her workplace. According to the Alexander Technique principles disadvantageous movement and posture patterns will be revealed. Through instruction and information on basic anatomical facts and through gentle guidance with hands-on-work, the employee can learn to use his/her body optimally.

> one-to-one work in a separate room

Sometimes support is needed for an employee in a secure environment. There, difficulties may be addressed without feeling observed. Inappropriate concepts, which influence the employee unnoticed, can be made conscious and experienced. Profound Alexander Technique knowledge can be taught and practiced.

> five-minute- balance-time®

Balance-time® is an institutionalized time for equalizing. The motto is "from outer work to inner work". It usually takes place 2-3 times a day for about 5 minutes. We systematically train and coach our internal balance-time® instructor. These work interruptions correspond to a conscious pause directly on site, and offer space to come completely into the moment and to oneself. During this time, guidance is given for anatomically useful movements. These breaks do not lead to any loss of productivity, quite the contrary is true: they effectively prevent work-related complaints and improve performance. This is confirmed by consistent research on micropauses, my own experience with employees and data collected from companies.

The balance-time® exercises are accompanied by written basics and training films. These are made available during the corresponding training courses.

> group training

Topics of general relevance such as sitting, standing, arm use, lifting and carrying, dealing with stress, etc. are very suitable for group trainings. These group trainings can be customized for the respective departments and carried out directly on site or in a training room.

> workplace optimization/ergonomics

Ergonomic and Alexander technical know-how are integrated into the workplace optimizations. This combination offers many advantages over the implementation of standardized ergonomics recommendations. Employees are sensitised to the interplay between their own behaviour and external conditions, which enables them to organise themselves optimally with the conditions.
"balance-time® is a premium–BGF (workplace health promotion) for companies: holistic, sustainable and scientifically up-to-date.“

Dr. med. M. Gauger

In addition to personal support for natural body use, we have achieved a lot in terms of sustainability. Not only in stage building, but also in construction. An awareness has arisen that you first have to think before you act - e.g. how to construct the thing in such a way that it is for the well-being of all involved, and how best to look after yourself during use, e.g. lifting and carrying.

Ruedi Schuler, AL Stage Design, Schauspielhaus Zurich

"In Switzerland, 20% of the working population suffer from work-related back pain. 26% of all absences from work due to illness are caused by diseases of the musculoskeletal system. They cause more than 100 million absence days per year. Absences from work due to musculoskeletal disorders cause annual operating costs of CHF 0.97 billion".

"Alexander Technique is
using the body – oneself as a whole -

„A person who learns to work to a principle in doing one exercise will have learned to do all exercises, but the person who learns just to “do an exercise” will most assuredly have to go on learning to “do exercises” ad infinitum“.

F.M. Alexander

Musculoskeletal complaints are the most common workplace health problems. Many illnesses can be avoided by good work organisation, by training a body-compatible use and, in particular, by implementing the legal requirements.
"The only freedom we have in this world is the pause between stimulus and reaction."
